About Zoë

Zoë’s practice focuses on corporate and securities law matters for early stage and emerging growth technology companies. Her advising covers start-up formation, angel and venture capital financings, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and general outside counsel matters.

Prior to Focal, Zoë was a corporate attorney at Davis, Polk & Wardwell LLP for nearly seven years in London, New York, and Menlo Park. She advised multinational companies on cross-border business transactions, counseled on public offerings and M&A, focused on public- company governance and disclosure, and represented highly regulated entities such as financial institutions.

Zoë is also an experienced communicator and professional philanthropic adviser to global non-profit institutions. Zoë worked for nearly a decade at Human Rights Watch where she oversaw strategic and business planning, co-lead the institutional relations function, and served as the lead writer and editor. She remains passionate about disability inclusion, indigenous rights, tech for social good, and capital deployment for social impact and environmental sustainability.
