Sean oversees the firm’s commercial and technology transactions practice. He provides strategic counsel to Focal clients on the commercialization of products, services and technologies and works with client sales organizations to resolve contractual issues to customer acquisition and to expedite deal flow. Sean drafts, negotiates, and reviews a variety of commercial and technology contracts, including IP and software license agreements, cloud computing agreements, master services agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and professional services agreements. Additionally, he advises clients on issues relevant to internet-based and e-commerce companies, including online terms of service and privacy policies, acceptable use policies, trademark and copyright use and enforcement, terms of purchase and sale, contests and promotions and online advertising and marketing.
Sean has served as a volunteer attorney for the Housing Justice Project, a King County Bar Association program that provides free legal assistance to low-income tenants facing eviction. Sean previously served as a volunteer and Board member for Washington Lawyers for the Arts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making low cost legal resources available to artists and arts organizations.
