(Pronouns: She/Her/Hers)
Ashley’s practice focuses on commercial and intellectual property disputes and litigation in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts. Ashley also assists clients with real estate litigation, such as commercial lease disputes and defense of real estate agents and brokerages, and creditor’s rights, including complex collections and defense of adversary proceedings.
Ashley is skilled at quickly assessing disputes from various angles which allows her to develop strategy early on, effectively engage in pre-litigation negotiation, and educate her clients on ways to mitigate risk and avoid litigation. Should litigation become necessary, Ashley is prepared to implement an effective and creative litigation plan. Central to her work is utilization of judgment which considers both business/client objectives and the controlling factual and legal issues.
Prior to joining Focal, Ashley worked as a commercial litigator at two Portland-area mid-size firms and was a member of the in-house legal team of a Portland-area loan servicing and asset management company.
Ashley stays active in her community by co-chairing the Oregon Women Lawyer’s Membership Committee, mentoring university students through Portland State University’s Explore the Law Program, volunteering as a pro-bono attorney for low-income small and emerging businesses through Lewis & Clark’s Small Business Clinic, and mentoring law students.
