Mike Atkins taught trademark law at the University of Washington School of Law for nine years and he has lectured on intellectual property issues in China, France, Germany, Spain and throughout the United States. The World Trademark Review lists him as a “Recommended Expert”; he is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a designation given to less than 0.5% of U.S. attorneys; he is rated a perfect “10.0” by the Avvo attorney rating company; and he has been a Washington “Super Lawyer” every year since 2010.
Known for providing strategic advice, Mike prosecutes applications for trademark and copyright registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Copyright Office. When necessary, he vigorously protects his client’s intellectual property interests in court and before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Mike is originally from Seattle. He graduated from St. John’s University (Collegeville, MN) and the University of Minnesota Law School, before returning home. These days, he splits his time between Seattle and Madrid, Spain. When not working, MIke enjoys running, skiing, studying Spanish, and searching for the world’s best gazpacho.
