Sean counsels clients on a broad range of Internet and intellectual property related issues, as well as general business and transactional matters.
His practice includes domain name acquisition, registration and enforcement; trademark selection, clearance, registration and policing; copyright registration, clearance and licensing; website terms and condition statements, privacy policies and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) compliance; and business entity formation.
Sean represents clients in state and federal courts in intellectual property and commercial disputes, as well as trademark owners in proceedings before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also represents clients before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in UDRP actions, where he has been successful in securing the transfer to his clients of infringing domain name registrations.
Sean has served as a volunteer attorney for the Housing Justice Project, a King County Bar Association program that provides free legal assistance to low-income tenants facing eviction. Sean previously served as a volunteer and Board member for Washington Lawyers for the Arts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making low cost legal resources available to artists and arts organizations.
